Grimm (TV Series)

Grimm is an American occult detective police procedural drama series. It debuted in the U.S. NBC on October 28, 2011. The show has been described as "a cop drama—with a twist... a dark and fantastical project about a world in which characters inspired by Grimms' Fairy Tales exist", although the stories and characters inspiring the show are also drawn from other sources.

On April 5, 2016 NBC renewed Grimm for a sixth season, consisting of 13 episodes. On August 29, 2016, NBC announced the sixth season would be the final season which premiered on January 6, 2017.

Homicide investigator Nick Burkhardt of the Portland Police Department learns he is descended from a line of guardians known as Grimms, charged with keeping balance between humanity and the Wesen, or mythological creatures of the world (Wesen is the German word for being or creature). What is a "GRIMM"

“	A Grimm is someone who can see into the heart of darkness. Someone who sees things other people don't understand.	”

A Grimm (Grimm is a German word which means "wrath"

or "fierce") a is a special person who possesses incredible powers, such as being able to see the true form of Wesen even when the Wesen don't want them to. For centuries, Grimms have taken it upon themselves to police and hunt the Wesen population and to protect normal humans from the unknown threat around them.

What is a "WESEN"

Wesen (VES-sin; German. "a being" or "creature") is a collective term used to describe the creatures visible to the Grimms. They are the basis not only of the fairy tales that the Brothers Grimm have compiled, but also of the many legends and folklore from many cultures (i.e. Anubis, Aswang, Chupacabra, Wendigo).When Wesen woge, they are able to recognize a Grimm by looking into their eyes. They can see an "infinite darkness" in a Grimm's eyes that allows a Wesen to see their reflection, where they can see their true Wesen nature. Many Wesen find it unsettling to see themselves reflected.
